EVESHAM Rowing Club’s juniors have won the Victor Ludorum for the fourth time in five years.

Some 33 crews ranging from J13 to J18 entered 22 events with Evesham totalling 11 wins on the day with four finalists at the regatta held in Stratford.

It was a great day for the singles as Alex Repton beat a rival from Derwent, Euan Woodfin beat team-mate Tyler Huddleston, Sam McClenahan overcome an opponent from Hereford in a close finish.

Liv Evans beat a member of the host club and Martha Bradley was another to trump an adversary from Derwent.

Leah Saunders beat Evesham team-mate Harriet Empson in the final then in their fifth race of the day, Saunders and Empson joined Naomi Dee and Maya Joshi to win their first race in a WJ15 quad before missing out in their final.

The doubles winner were twins Finn and Phoebe Warren, Woodfin and Huddleston and Becca Parkin and Ella Shalom who then teamed up with Katie Ham and Charlie Akerman to beat Stratford in the WJ18 coxless quad event.

The youngest Evesham competitors – the Warren twins, Repton, Will Heslington with cox Thomas Bolam – beat an older crew of girls from Stratford in a close invitation event.
