PERSHORE swimmers bagged 37 medals at the Worcester open meet including eight golds.

There were some outstanding swims across the age ranges with many county qualifying times.

There were nine year bronzes for Emily Gleaves in the 50-metre backstroke and Bella Williams in the 200m breaststroke.

Kyle Bass got silver in the 100m backstroke and bronzes in the 50m butterfly and 100m individual medley.

Oscar Lane won the 200m freestyle and finished third in the 100m butterfly.

Archie Day got 200m breaststroke gold, 100m butterfly silver and 50m and 200m freestyle bronzes.

For the 10 year olds, Toby Marchant was first in the 50m butterfly, second in the 100m backstroke and third in the 100m freestyle, 200m backstroke and 200m individual medley.

Tom Porter came third in the 200 breaststroke.

Millie Thomas was on form in the 11 year age group with first in the 100m individual medley, 100m butterfly and 200m individual medley and second in the 100m freestyle and 200m backstroke.

Josie Lane won the 50m breaststroke and Mia Underwood finished third in the 100m backstroke with Josh Heeks second in the 100m butterfly.

For the 12 year olds, Natalija Kelly was second in the 50m butterfly and third in the 100m butterfly.

There were 13 year medals for Kian Baker with silvers in the 50m backstroke, 100m individual medley and 50m freestyle and bronzes in the 50m butterfly, 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle.

Josh Lester won the 200m backstroke while Ethan Stanley was third in the 50m freestyle and 100m individual medley.

Annie Garret, 14, came third in the 100m backstroke.

Also swimming well were Jess Cosnett, Charlotte Fairchild, Eleanor Deacon, Lottie Rhymes, Katie Saunders, Anya Wood, Jessie Mothersole, Ava Fletcher, Sophia Lawson, Aleksandra Kelly, Maisie Beach, Hannah Webley, Matthew Drayton, William O’Sullivan, Max Lester, Emma Taylor, Lottie Styler, Jess Barnes, Zoe Barnes, Emily Pask, Libby Boulton, Charlie Deary, Chloe Barnard, Philippa Taylor, Betsy Deacon, Teagan Cosnett, Philippa Fairchild, Daisie Rhymes, Pippa Fairchild, Jack Porter, Toby Stanley, Grace Styler, Ellie Williams, Amelia Deacon, Andrew Thorner, Tom Mothersole, James Heeks, Caitlin Yates and Emily Drayton.

Coach Marie Porter said: “It’s wonderful to see some new swimmers competing and to see strength in the younger age groups coming through.

"There were lots of county qualifying times achieved. It was a great way to finish the season.”
