SUMMER signing Lee Chilton bagged a hat-trick as Evesham United hammered lower-ranked Racing Club Warwick 5-0 last night.

The Robins kept a welcome clean sheet against the Midland League Premier Division visitors at the Jubilee Stadium.

All the goals arrived in the second half for Carl Abbott's side as former Alvechurch ace Chilton struck three alongside efforts from Adam Page and trialist Matt Dodd.

Winger Dodd has since signed for the Robins for the forthcoming season in Southern League Division One South which kicks off on Saturday, August 17, at home to Paulton Rovers (3pm).

The experienced operator, 32, has played for the likes of Worcester City, Stourbridge, Leamington, Halesowen Town and Sutton Coldfield Town.

Previously, Evesham went down 4-0 to Rugby Town at the Jubilee Stadium last week.

Jazz Luckie opened the scoring early on when he finished from inside the area.

This was the only goal in a tight first half but United Counties Football League Premier Division side Rugby upped the ante in the second period.

Lewis Padmore made an immediate impact after coming off the bench as he finished off a nice move.

Charlie Evans got the assist and then got on the scoresheet himself before Kieran Fitzgerald made it four late on.

The defeat followed Evesham’s 7-1 hammering by Gloucester City.

Pre-season continues for Evesham at higher-ranked Alvechurch on Saturday (3pm) and at Stratford Town on Monday (7.45pm).
