EVESHAM Swimming Club achieved their best placing in the PGL finals at Gloucester’s GL1 Leisure Centre.

They took bronze medal with third place in a competitive event after qualifying by finishing in fourth out of 11 other clubs over four galas earlier in the year.

Evesham swimmers, aged between nine and 14, achieved nine first places with another nine speeding tickets awarded for fast times.

Head coach Graham Begley said: “I couldn’t be prouder of our swimmers.

"The progress we have made since I joined the club two years ago is astonishing and shows that hard work really does pay off.

"We’ve had swimmers taking four seconds off their personal best times at this event which is amazing and well deserving of their speeding tickets.

"They should all be very proud of themselves.

"We have a number of swim galas coming up over the next 12 months and if they swim like they did that weekend we can expect great things.”
