COTSWOLD Hills League Division One leaders Elmley Castle edged home by two wickets at fourth-from-bottom Winchcombe.

Opener Eddie Huggett top scored with 55 in Winchcombe’s 143 all out from 40.2 overs as Will Bailey, Neil Cooper, Matt Ormerod and Tom Attwood took two wickets each.

After Castle opener Barry Clements hit 46 and Ormerod 26, it was left to Bailey with 31 not out to lead his team home on 144-8 in 31.1 overs.

Wickets fell regularly thanks to Matt Casey (3-25) and Ben Meikle (3-32).

Ashton-under-Hill went up to fifth thanks to a six-wicket victory at FISSC.

The home side were dismissed for 128 in 31.3 overs as Shaun Whalen-Smith claimed 3-21 and Simon Fell 3-38.

Ashton won with 129-4 in 32.4 overs as captain Jack Perks scored 33no aided by opener Tom Watling (26).

Mid-table Bretforton lost by four wickets at third-placed Wellesbourne in the Premier Division.

Bret were bowled out for 150 in 35 overs with most of the runs coming from Paul Jones (38), Andy Stanley (33) and skipper Luke Richardson (27).

Noah Rose took 4-15 in eight overs.

The hosts won with 151-6 in 39.3 overs despite 3-29 from Alex Evans as Bret used nine bowlers.

Hosts Broadway beat Earlswood thirds by five wickets in Division Three after chasing down a target of 204 all out.

Callum Millard took 3-51 before Kevin Holmes scored 46, Jamie Powell 51 and Sam Hopkins 38 in the reply.

Craig Malin (20no) and David Rankin (16no) brought Broadway home on 205-5 in 38 overs.

Bidford-on-Avon are second in Division Four and enjoyed a 64-run win at Henley-in-Arden.

Craig Wiggett scored 90, Tom Edkins 48 and Simon Rouse 36 in Bidford’s 204 all out.

But Henley were skittled for 140 in 34 overs as Wiggett claimed 3-40 and Rouse 3-34.
