BROADWAY 70-year-old Roger Day has been handed a prestigious 2019 Ironman Triathlon Silver All World Athlete award.
This comes after winning his 70 to 74 year age category at the Ironman 70.3 in Majorca and qualifying for the World Championships in South Africa where he was first Great Britain athlete and sixth overall.
The 70.3 triathlon involves a 1.2-mile open-water swim, 56-mile cycle and 13.1-mile run.
Day also tackled the Ironman Bolton where he did a 2.4-mile open-water swim, 112-mile cycle and 26.2-mile run in 14 hours 25 minutes for first in his age category.
He now has his sights set on the Ironman 70.3 European Championships in Elsinore, Denmark, in June.
