EVESHAM Rugby Club were well beaten 42-10 at third-placed county rivals Kidderminster Carolians in Midlands Two West (South).
Despite scoring first via a Tom Williams penalty kick, the visitors were not in the game for much of the match and trailed 25-3 at half-time.
A try from Fred Hopper, converted by Williams, gave a brief flicker of hope but KCs proved too strong on the day.
The loss sees Evesham slip a place to ninth setting up a tantalising home tie against eighth-placed Leamington on Saturday (3pm).
Pershore crashed 71-25 at leaders Old Wheatleyans in Midlands Four West (South).
Second-from-bottom Bredon Star went down 77-10 at home to high-flying Old Cryptians in Gloucestershire One.
They visit Old Elizabethans on Saturday.
