EVESHAM players bossed the boys' under 19s section at the Butterfly Worcestershire Schools' Individual Senior Table Tennis Championships.

St Egwin’s School and Bromsgrove School hosted the action.

Ed Sommers finished first ahead of fellow Prince Henry's High School pupils Ali Witheford in second and Jonny Lyons in third.

Their school-mate Fin Smith also competed in the round-robin format along with Solomon Wong and Grigorii Rodionov from Bromsgrove.

Sommers defeated Lyons and competition favourite Witheford 3-2.

Prince Henry's pupil Abi Ingles was second in the girls' under 16s competition, losing 3-0 to Jade Ngan Lok Yee from Bromsgrove in the final.

Third place was taken by Sophie Arrandale with a 3-0 victory over sister Rebecca with both attending Prince Henry's.

Ngan Lok Yee topped Group A with another Prince Henry's pupil Anna Cole and Rebecca Arrandale in second and third and Aida Rahim of Bromsgrove fourth.

Group B was decided on games won with Ingles top, Prince Henry's pupil Emily Grove second and Sophie Arrandale third ahead of Saki Tsubouchi and Elsa Tsia from Bromsgrove in fourth and fifth respectively.

The quarter-finals saw Ngan Lok Yee beat Tsubouchi 3-0, Ingles defeat Rahim 3-0, Rebecca Arrandale see off Grove 3-0 and Sophie Arrandale edge out Cole 3-2.

Ngan Lok Yee defeated Rebecca Arrandale 3-0 in the semis with Ingles beating Sophie Arrandale 3-1.

Rahim took the consolation final 3-1 against Tsubouchi.

Prince Henry's pupil Alex Emms lost 3-1 to Darren Hui of Bromsgrove 3-1 in the boys' under 16s final.

Emms saw off Murat Shafigullin of Bromsgrove 3-0 in the semis while Hui beat Luke Fisher of Prince Henry's 3-0.
