BLACKMINSTER Badminton Club are looking out for new members to bolster their numbers.

The club, who have been running for over 35 years, had a successful season last year, winning both the mixed and men’s Evesham and District Badminton League.

But the numbers have diminished despite such a promising season.

A club spokesman said: "Badminton is an enjoyable sport to play and provides the perfect opportunity for those wanting to get back into shape after enjoying the festivities of Christmas and new year!

"We are a friendly and welcoming club and have members of all ages and levels of skill.

"We have a strong men’s and vets' team and are presently looking for more female players to balance the numbers.

"This would provide an opportunity to put forward a stronger ladies’ team in the next season of the Worcester League."

Based at St Egwin's Middle School, Evesham, the club meets every Monday from 8pm until 10pm for fun, friendly games.

For those wanting to play more competitively there is also the opportunity to join matches in both the Worcester and Evesham leagues during the season.
