THE River Avon at Eckington fished hard for Evesham WMC members with only five catching out of 11.

Bryan Townley had a skimmer and a few small roach for 2lb 10oz 0dr.

Rob Andrews had 0-15 of small roach and Spud Taylor had one skimmer for 0-11.

Section winners were Robin Locke (0-6) and Vic Woods (0-2).

Meanwhile, Steve Rogers won round four of Evesham Jubilee's winter league with 17-10 from bonus peg four on the Jubilee pool.

Ron Evans was second from peg 12 with 11-14 and third was the consistent Ray Nosworthy from peg seven with 11-7.

Section winners in windy conditions were Jenny Walters from peg eight with 6-1, Alan Gardner from peg 10 with 7-11 and Bob Evans from peg 25 with 6-8.

Phil Simnett caught 5-4, Mark Court 5-2, Tony Hemming 4-13, Rich Ford 4-6 and Frank Wallace 3-0.

Nosworthy is in prime position in the league with 34 points from Rogers on 29, Court and Evans on 26, Ford and Evans on 21, Gardner on 20 and Wallace on 12 with three matches left.

Eight anglers fished the Wednesday affordable open on the Jubilee pool which was frozen in places.

Only two roach were caught by Hemming from peg two.

The club's AGM is at 8pm on Tuesday, February 12, at Hampton Club.
