EVESHAM head to Old Coventrians on Saturday (2.15) with renewed belief despite an extension to their losing run.

High-flying Nuneaton Old Edwardians made off with a 20-14 victory in Midlands Two West (South) but got forced to fight for the spoils thanks to a much-improved performance from the hosts.

Will Bugg's try, converted by Tom Williams, had Evesham within touching distance at the break with Zak Shotton scoring after the interval and Williams again adding the extras.

It was not quite enough but the losing bonus point will boost morale ahead of this weekend's battle of the strugglers.

Elsewhere, Evesham Colts won 39-0 in a friendly at Ledbury.

Dan Haines crashed over from short range after a driving run by James Carsberg with Toby Turner slotting away the conversion.

Euey Breach and Kieran Downey completed the first-half scoring with Luke Atkins, Turner, James Costall and man-of-the-match Jack O'Halleran going over in the second half.

The Colts return to league action at home to Telford next.
