BRETFORTON won the Wychavon Parish Games for the fourth year running with 152 points.

They finished ahead of runners-up Badsey and Aldington who last won the trophy in 1979.

The Small Parishes Trophy was close with Wick just edging out Wyre Piddle.

The Richard Preece Cup for the highest-placed medium parish went to Sedgeberrow and the Award of Merit was shared by Eckington and Harvington.

For the 40th year of the games individual event organisers were presented with small gifts.

They included Robin Such for putting on the skittles for the past 28 years and Sue Collins who has run the overall games for a similar length of time.

The presentation evening at Bretforton Sports Cub saw winners and runners-up in each event presented with their trophies by either the sponsor or Ed O'Brien or Sarah Greenhalgh from Severn Trent who back Wychavon Sport.

The overall trophies were presented by Wychavon District Council chairman Tony Rowley.
