EVESHAM United were made to pay for their missed chances as Jack Dancey’s late goal clinched Larkhall Athletic a 1-1 draw at the Jubilee Stadium.

Will Tunnicliff’s first-half strike looked like being enough for Evesham only for Dancey to score an 88th minute equaliser in the Evo-Stik League South Division One South clash.

The visitors won the physical battle in the early stages and went close to scoring on 18th minutes when they fired wide from eight yards out.

Both tried their luck from range before Tunnicliff opened the scoring on 37 minutes.

He overlapped debutant Andy Page on the left before driving into the box and unleashing a shot that looped over stopper Shaun Seemens courtesy of a deflection.

United created a host of opportunities to increase their lead in the second period.

Jacob Davidge hit the side-netting after being put clean through, Joe Tumelty pushed his effort wide and Cory Simpson’s header cannoned off the crossbar.

Evesham were well on top but with two minutes remaining Dancey’s deflected strike at the back post beat goalkeeper Andy Hannah.

The draw maintained Larkhall’s unbeaten streak away from home in the league and saw Evesham drop to seventh in the table.
