SIBLINGS Kye and Cory Simpson each snaffled doubles to rescue Evesham United in Saturday’s 4-4 draw with Highworth Town in Southern League Division One South.
It was the only match in the division with many other sides involved in FA Trophy action, leaving the Robins third in the table and one point off the summit but they have played more games than all the other challengers.
United may have exited all four cup competitions but knockout commitments for opponents have led to a reshuffle of the fixture schedule over the next few weeks.
Winchester City tackle National South giants Torquay United in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round on Saturday, meaning Evesham’s league trip there has been pushed back to Tuesday, November 13.
A charity event at Bristol Manor Farm means Paul Collicutt will take his charges there on Friday, November 30 – 24 hours earlier than originally planned.
