EVESHAM'S Autumn Whitehouse Cups involved 18 mixed pairs in a foursomes medal format with Richard Curnock and Penny Osborne scoring 73.5 nett to win.

John Stanley and Conryn Abbott were second with 74 and Doug Sharp and Dinah Wood third with 74.5.

Winning Evesham pair Abbott and Audrey Tomkins went through to the next round of the Daily Mail Foursomes. Twenty-eight ladies from the club teamed up in pairs for the national competition with Abbott and Tomkins scoring 76.5 nett ahead of Marlene Billings and Lesley Curnock on 81.5.

Members also played in pairs in the October medal as Billings and Ruth Masters won in Division One with 73 and 77 respectively.

Division Two went to Julie Winter with 78 and Carolyn Washbourne with 79.

Margaret Roberts with 72 and Dee Fowkes with 77 topped Division Three.

Evesham seniors held their AGM and presented the cup to the winner of the Ralph Burton competition.

The trophy played over several months in a knockout format went to Tim Swift.
