COTSWOLD rivals Bourton Rovers and Moreton Rangers warmed up for tomorrow’s derby showdown with victories last weekend.

The battle for the bragging rights takes place at Rissington Road (3pm) with both teams seeking the upper hand in the Hellenic League Division Two West title race.

Rangers go into the trip as top dogs having bashed Newent Town reserves 4-0 at London Road on Saturday.

Lee Brooks and Doug Wallace each helped themselves to doubles to ensure Moreton took full advantage of previous-leaders Abingdon United Development being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Highworth Town reserves.

Bourton sit fifth, four points off the summit but with a game in hand having played and won in the Hellenic League Chairman’s Challenge Cup.

Goals from Danny Way and substitute Keegan Bowes sealed a 2-0 home success over Adderbury Park to set up a second-round tie with Brimscombe & Thrupp reserves.

Vote closes at 3pm on Saturday.
