Bridge: Pershore edged out in Ina Godwin Cup
PERSHORE were just edged out by Droitwich in the annual bridge battle for the Ina Godwin Cup.
A thrilling finish saw Eddy and Jette Blackburn level with Pershore's Ken Southwell and Chris Davies before an 11-9 victory in the final round of the Swiss pairs event.
The Blackburns scored 60VP, Southwell and Davies 58 and Pershore's Wilf Atkinson and Lawrie Hunt 53.
