LITTLETON'S difficult start to the season continued with a 5-1 defeat at Leicester Road in Midland League Division One.

The visitors again had periods where they were on top but their inability to finish off chances and tendency to give away goals at vital times continues to cost them dear.

On a big pitch, Littleton went straight on to the attack and took the lead on four minutes as following good work on the right James Schembri netted from close range.

However within 15 minutes they found themselves 3-1 down following a hat-trick from Matt Langham, all scored from close range.

Littleton never gave up and stuck to their task, getting into good positions but seeming reluctant to shoot.

The fourth goal came on 63 minutes when Mark Green appeared to be yards offside but was waved on and duly scored past Josh Rogers who impressed in Littleton's goal.

The final goal came from a penalty in the closing minutes, leaving bottom-of-the-table Littleton on no points from eight games.

Littleton host Hinckley AFC on Saturday (3pm) and Studley on Wednesday, October 3, in the League Cup (7.45pm).
