EVESHAM’s middle-order resistance helped them to see off Feckenham by 100 runs in Worcestershire League Division One.

After Ali Asghar (25), Ali Shan (15) and Abdul Ber Bin M Azam (5) were dismissed Evesham appeared to be in a spot of bother.

But Johnson Lourdhusamy (64) and Muhammad Saqib (86) responded superbly while Nasir Mehmood added 36 as the visitors finished on 299-9.

Mohammed Fahim Maan then starred with the ball as he claimed 5-27, including the crucial wickets of Flynn Duggan (40) and Jamie Reddish (54).

James Crenan and Wajahat Chohan also picked up two wickets each as Evesham clinched victory in the 40th over.

Third-placed Evesham host Hagley on Saturday (1pm).

Taylor Pugh registered figures of 3-38 on his return from injury as Pershore claimed a winning draw at Astwood Bank in Birmingham League Division Two.

Chris Miles (78) and Chris Ridings (40) saw Pershore to 247-9, but Tom Underhill top scored with 81 for the hosts who finished on 184-9.

Pershore welcome Harborne to The Bottoms on Saturday (midday).
