BOURTON Rovers seized second spot in the final Hellenic League Division Two West standings by completing a Magnificent Seven victories to finish the season.

Connor Teague’s brace, which saw him reach 10 goals in 11 league matches for Rovers, was added to by substitute Jake Oakey in a 3-0 home win over Bishop’s Cleeve Development on Monday.

It was a seventh straight league success with 36 goals scored and four clean sheets to finish the campaign.

The win saw off derby rivals Moreton Rangers whose second straight draw, a 2-2 share of the spoils at Clanfield 85 Development, nudged them down to third.

Harrison Smith had scored for Moreton in Saturday’s 1-1 home draw with Carterton.

Bourton finished two points ahead but three shy of the title, taken by Newent Town on the Thursday before courtesy of an 11-1 walloping of Cheltenham Saracens reserves.

Carterton Rangers and Chipping Norton Town drew 1-1 in Witney and District FA Division One with Carl Shirley and an own goal providing the games only highlights.

Wayne Berry scored twice to secure Moreton Rangers a crucial 2-0 win over Bletchingdon in Division Two.

It completed their campaign and kept alive their slim hopes of winning the title.

Despite being held to a draw mid-week by Bourton Rovers, Moreton are three points clear of second-placed Bletchingdon who have two games in hand and will steal the title with one victory.

Bourton Rovers reserves lost 5-1 to their FC Hollybush counterparts thanks to Steve Holder, Richard Williams, Alex Stubbs, Will Watts and Carl Williams.

The second string did muster a fine performance against Witney Royals reserves, though, with Lee Mosson (2), Jay Mosson, Keelan Gilbert and Oakey all on target.
