LEADERS Shipston-on-Stour enjoyed their third Cotswold Hills Cricket League Premier Division victory in a row.

The hosts beat fellow early pace-setters Exhall and Wixford by 59 runs after captain Matt Corby batted first on winning the toss.

Openers Corby (16) and Julian Morris (2) were dismissed early on before Justin Saker and Jack Murphy got Shipston back into the game with a 124-run partnership.

Murphy (48) was caught behind before Marcus Ireland (35) produced a few lusty blows.

Saker (115 not out) brought up his maiden league century in an imposing 268-6 from 45 overs.

David Saker (2-21) reduced Exhall to 37-2 off 12 overs in reply but Exhall recovered to 85 before Ireland and J Saker stepped in.

Dave Mullett (57) and Scott Carmichael took their side to 188 before they were dismissed by Corby (3-39) and J Saker (3-54) respectively.

The duo wrapped up the tail to end Exhall’s innings on 209.
