HEREFORD FC have asked fans to help them 'boost their budget' for the coming season and help towards funding a prolonged pre-season.

The squad's new base will be at Warwick University.

Hereford are due to commence competitive action on October 3, with an FA Cup tie.

A statement on the Hereford FC website said that donations will go towards 'the associated costs of a much longer pre-season this year, due to the prolonged absence of football, alongside providing high quality training facilities, where all the hard work with training and fitness will take place for the 2020/21 season.'

The club say they will be having more 'relaxed tactical days' on the pitch at Edgar Street.

"A lot of fans have messaged the club to find out ways they can help the club out with donations," Gowling told the club's official website.

"So we decided to open up a 'boost the budget' campaign. What this means is that you can help the club out massively, that will go to things like the training ground.

"We need a state of the art facility, get the players through the door and get them training, get the tactics right and get them prepared for the season.

"We need to use this opportunity to have a longer pre-season, which will obviously cost a little bit more money to get the lads ready for the start of the season.

"Along with that we will also have the budget, bringing the best players to the football club and your donations can help to build the team as a whole.

"Get behind us, get supporting us, we're in this together and we can build this squad together.

"We can take this team to the next level."
