A REDDITCH teenager has revealed himself as the artist behind art installations aimed to lift people's spirits through the coronavirus pandemic.

Charlie Manning, who attends Pershore High School, felt inspired to paint hopeful messages on signs to cheer people up during the lockdown.

The thirteen-year-old has made four signs and has displayed them on the junction of B4092 and Morton Hall Lane for people to see.

The creative youngster has painted a piece dedicated to the NHS and key workers, as well as one with a message asking people to stay home to save lives.

Another painted sign reads "Stay at home... or drop loo roll here."

The passionate painter says members of the public have responded positively to the signs by sounding their car horns in appreciation.

Charlie said: "I just felt that people needed a lift because everyone is a bit on edge at the moment.

"You can see the worry in some people's faces. I thought it was important to put something out there to say you are not alone."

"I was on a bike ride and an ambulance came past a sign and sounded its horn. I think people are really enjoying it."

Charlie has recently selected his GCSE subjects and says art was his "number one option".
