A REDDITCH man has completed a run to raise funds for the NHS Charities Together whilst donning a dinosaur outfit.
Darren Roland, also known as 'Darrensaurus Rex,' took part in a phased marathon over the course of four days and has now raised around £2,000.
Due to social distancing and outside exercise restrictions, the self-employed carpenter ran for around 6.5 miles an hour each day from Thursday to Sunday last week.
The challenge was completed at Arrow Valley Lake in Redditch, where Darren ran laps due to the lack of visibility in his suit.
People out and about cheered and clapped Darren on as he raced to complete his marathon.
He said that his biggest fear was the batteries running out in the fan on the suit, which would have caused him to deflate.
Darren set up a JustGiving page to collect donations for his chosen charity and the support he has received has exceeded his expectations.
He said: "The amount of people clapping and cheering you on gets you through it. It was a great thing to do. There are other anonymous dinosaur runners in Redditch.
"When I first set up the JustGiving page I had the target set a £1,000. But I've received almost double now which is fantastic."
