SUPPLIES of hand sanitiser are being delivered to every care home in Worcestershire.

Worcestershire County Council said it is working with local suppliers Equilibrium Chemicals and Piston Distillery to provide the highly sought-after product to homes in the area.

This hand sanitiser will be sent to frontline social care staff to ensure they are able to maintain good hand hygiene while providing help and support to vulnerable people.

Councillor Adrian Hardman, cabinet member for adult social care, said: “The safety of our care staff is always a top priority for us.

"During these unprecedented times, it is vital we do all we can to help our care staff stay safe and well and continue providing care and support to those who need it.

"I’d like to thank Equilibrium Chemicals and Piston Distillery for all they are doing to help those not just locally, close to home in Worcestershire, but nationally to stay safe.”

Chris Lloyd-Adams, director of Equilibrium Chemicals in Malvern, said: “The team at Equilibrium Chemical Services are working hard to keep supply of hand sanitiser flowing, prioritising local councils and front line staff.”

Grace Stringer, distillery manager at Piston Gin Distillery in Worcester, added: “The safety and wellbeing of our community is our highest priority and we wanted to do all we can to help.

"Over the past weeks we have been working around the clock taking our alcohol supply and changing our production line to produce a moisturising hand sanitiser.”
