A CORONER has recorded a verdict of suicide after a Sedgley dad was found hanged at his home.

Ricardo Cipolat was found hanging at the property in Ferndown Avenue on November 13 and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr Cipolat, aged 58, was discovered by a family member and paramedics were called but nothing could be done to save his life.

The discovery came two days after he visited his GP to whom he confessed to having been in a low mood. He had indicated he did not feel suicidal at that time but said he had considered it a few days earlier.

On the day of his death - he left work at around 12.30pm and was found dead at his home just three hours later at 3.25pm.

Area coroner for the Black Country, Joanne Lees, told the court the cause of Mr Cipolat's death was asphyxia due to hanging and she told how police had found a note on the living room table at the property, addressed to his wife and children, telling them he loved them and saying "sorry I let you down".

She told the inquest hearing at Black Country Coroners Court today (April 1) that police said there were no suspicious circumstances and based on the evidence and balance of probability it was clear Mr Cipolat intended to end his life.

She added: "I record a short form conclusion of suicide and I offer my sincere condolences to the family of Mr Cipolat."
