A MAN was found guilty of driving a lorry on the M5 when he was three times over the drink drive limit.

At a trial at Worcester Magistrates Court on March 17 magistrates heard VytensisVitasenkovas drove a Mercedes Tractor Unit on the motorway on December 5.

The court heard he failed a roadside breath test, and was recorded as having 148mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg.

Vitasenkovas, of Bretton, Peterborough, was given a 12 week jail sentence, suspended for a year. The 45-year-old was given a 12 week curfew, and was disqualified from driving for 36 months. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £122 and costs of £625.

Meanwhile Jasmine Cox pleaded guilty to assaulting Lewis Cottrell by beating in Worcester on September 14 last year.

The 18-year-old also admitted assaulting Megan Houston by beating, also on September 14.

Cox had previously admitted using threatening or abusive words or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress. Cox, of Ashford, Kent, was given a 13 week curfew, which will be in force between the hours of 7am and 7pm daily.

Cox was told to pay compensation to the victims of £100 each and a victim surcharge of £90. The total, £290, was to be paid at a rate of £5 per week.

And Jason Willis, of Swinyard Road, Malvern, also appeared at the court on March 17, and pleaded not guilty to driving without due care and attention.

The court heard Willis is alleged to have driven a motorbike on the A417, in Hereford, and overtook a vehicle in a manner that led to a loss of control, and a collision with three other vehicles that caused damage.

The case was adjourned with the 33-year-old's trial currently scheduled to take place at the court on May 5.
