A WOLVERLEY man has set up a community support group to help Kidderminster residents in need.

Dale Preece-Kelly started the Coronavirus Community Support - Kidderminster & Surrounding Areas Facebook page on Sunday (March 15), which now has close to 1,200 members.

The page allows people to ask for help or offer their support in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

Dale said: "People from all over the area are congregating on this group.

"It's for people to offer up their help and support.

"I have divided the Kidderminster map up into 25 zones.

"We are around the 200 mark for volunteers who want to help people in Kidderminster.

"People can go onto the group and search for topics they need help with in their specific zone.

"There are volunteer leaders for each zone.

"The 'Zoners' is the name I have given to those helping in the Kidderminster area, and the 'OOzers' are for those outside of Kidderminster.

"It's a place to support each other. If you need help, ask, and somebody will help - whether its you or somebody you know who needs help, regardless of age.

"If you are willing to help, tell people you are available.

"If you are self isolating and just want to talk to somebody, hear a voice for a few minutes, ask and somebody will be there.

"We need to be there for each other."

People can join the group on Facebook by searching Coronavirus Community Support - Kidderminster & Surrounding Areas.
