A MAN who repeatedly stole, and tried to steal, alcohol from Asda and Waitrose in Bromsgrove has been handed a fine.

Kyle Jolly, from The Becks in Alvechurch, made several attempts to steal and successfully stole booze from the shops throughout February and the start of March.

These included stealing alcohol to the value of £40 belonging to Waitrose, and alcohol to the value of £2, belonging to Asda.

He attempted to steal alcohol costing £36 from Waitrose.

The 26-year-old, who pleaded guilty to all offences, was discharged conditionally for 12 months and ordered to pay a total of £83.

Meanwhile, in other cases heard last week at Worcestershire magistrates, a Redditch woman has been fined for being drunk and disorderly.

Coral MacDonald, from Sandhurst Close, was guilty, while drunk, of disorderly behaviour in Church Green West.

The 24-year-old, who pleaded guilty, was fined £40 and ordered to pay victim services of £32.

Christopher Biddle, 29, from Throckmorton Road in Redditch, has been fined for assaulting Demi Whitehead by beating her.

On Christmas Eve last year he also damaged a phone belonging to Demi Whitehead and a destroyed a lounge window belonging to Ms Whitehead.

Biddle, who pleaded guilty, was ordered to pay a total of £452, which included victim services of £32, and costs of £180.

Benjamin Saunders, 36, from Crooks Lane in Alcester, was given a suspended jail sentence for driving while drunk.

On February 17 this year he turned up at McDonald's in Clews Road in Redditch after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 58 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

It also turned out he was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence, and did not have appropriate cover to drive the car.

Saunders, who pleaded guilty, was committed to prison for eight weeks suspended for 18 months, and made to pay victim services of £122, and costs of £135.

He was also disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 40 months.

Joseph Tomlinson, 28, from Malvern Road, has been fined for driving his silver BMW on Unicorn Hill while drunk.

He was found with so much alcohol that the proportion in his breath, 42 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

He also didn't have any insurance.

The 28-year-old was made to pay a total of £407 which included a fine of £120, victim services of £32, and costs of £135.

He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months.
