WE can't wait for Worcester's Big Parade in 2021.

It was a joy to attend the official launch of the Wild in Art trail at Worcester’s Guildhall on Wednesday evening, where the big reveal – to a crowd of potential sponsors and partners – was that the theme for 2021 was elephants, instead of the giraffes that so delighted the city in 2018.

The elephant sculptures will be located around the city as part of an eight-week trail brought to Worcester by St Richard’s Hospice, to once again raise money for that charity. In 2018, the Worcester Stands Tall giraffes raised £210,400 for the hospice so, hopefully, 2021 will be just as successful.

When the announcement was made, there was a huge round of applause for the elephant theme. Clearly they are popular animals and the right choice for such a major trail.

The Worcester News will once again be a media partner for the trail, and we can't wait to take our readers on the journey from the design of the elephants to when they line the streets of the city and then the auction for St Richard's Hospice.
