The A40 southbound between Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth was closed this afternoon as emergency dealt with a crash between a car and a lorry.
West Mercia Police said the road was blocked between Whitchurch/Symonds Yat services and the Dixton island.
Paramedics treated the car driver, but his injuries were not thought to be serious.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called by the fire service at 1:14pm to reports of a collision involving a car and lorry on the A40 in Whitchurch.
"We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene. We’ve treated one patient, a man, who was the driver of the car, for injuries not believed to be serious. He’s been taken to Hereford County Hospital for further treatment.”
Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue were among the first of the emergency services on scene, with three crews from Whitchurch, Ross-on-Wye and Hereford attending.
