A MUM claims a problem with a supermarket's CCTV system has left her with no way of finding out who damaged her car.

Osmay Imran, 38, said she was disappointed to discover that security cameras in the Asda car park were not working when she returned to her parked car and found it damaged with no note left from whoever hit it.

Worcester News:

Mrs Imran, from Worcester, says police have told her there is little chance of finding the offender without the CCTV footage.

She said: “I am very cross with Asda, had the camera been working, we could have caught the incident and handed it over to the police.

"Without the reg or make and model of the car it will be like finding a needle in a haystack now.

“I am so disappointed that in this day and age security is not key to Asda.

Worcester News:

"It is very frustrating.

"I do not feel safe or secure knowing that the cameras are not working.”

It is understood that Asda security cameras on the ground and lower ground floor were out of order for a week.

Worcester News:

Mrs Imran has appealed for help on social media to try to find out who hit her car.

The mother-of-three said: “Between 1pm -3pm my grey Mercedes A class was parked at Asda.

“On return it seems someone may have inadvertently scrapped the side whilst getting in or out.

“This has been reported to the police. Incident ref: 443S230220.

"If anyone has seen anything I would much appreciate it if you could get in contact with me or the police.”

Replying on her post, Hannah Bishop said: “The same thing happened to me in Asda car park!!!

"They saw me sat in my car after hitting me and drove off!! Cameras were not working then and the police did nothing.

"I had to go through court to get my repair costs and expenses back! So frustrating, I really feel for you.”

A spokesperson for Asda said: "Due to a technical issue found following routine maintenance on the cameras on this level of the car park unfortunately they were not recording at the time of this incident and we are working to get them back up and running as soon as possible."
