PADDLERS from Pershore Phoenix Dragon Boat Club have won a Dragon boat racing competition on snow in the Alps.
The team members joined with others to make up a team called ‘Iced Gems’, and won the competition on snow.
In Snow Dragon Boat racing the quarter tonne boat, plus paddlers, is mounted onto skis.

The event was held in Le Grand-Bornand, France. Iced Gems was made up of people from the Pershore, Worcester area as well as people from Henley-on-Thames and Milton Keynes.
The team had never raced a dragon boat on snow before but competed against teams from the UK, Germany, France and Switzerland.
They won the event ahead of a German team in second place, and a French team in third.
Dan and Linda from Pershore Phoenix Dragon Boat Racing club said it was a fantastic event in a wonderful setting.
This was the first foray into Dragon Boat racing on snow and the team could be set for a return next winter.
