MORE details have been revealed surrounding two new festivals coming to Upton-Upon-Severn this year.

We previously reported how Upton 48 is bringing the Spring Fling and Oktoberfest events to the town this year, while the Spring Fling is running from March 13-15 and Oktoberfest from October 9-11.

Confirmed venues for Spring Fling include The Swan, The Anchor, The Boathouse, The King’s Head and The White Lion and this week, The Star Inn was confirmed as the Spring Fling’s folk and indie venue.

Now, it has been revealed that Little Upton Muggery will see Groovyhead perform from 7.30pm on March 13. On March 14, Hot Tubes will be playing from 7.30pm.

Upton 48 derives its name from the concept of having 48 gigs spread across 11 venues, taking place over 48 hours.

Oktoberfest will feature the same spread of 48 gigs across eleven venues in 48 hours, with exact details to be confirmed later this year.

A spokesman from Upton 48 said: “It’s been an exciting month for the Upton48 team, with plans in full swing for March’s Spring Fling.

“In late October, our chair met with Malvern Hills District Council to discuss potential funding for promotional materials.

“We are pleased to say that the talk was a success, so keep an eye out for Upton48’s banners and flyers appearing in the coming months.”
