A PROLIFIC thief who stole meat, wine and chocolate during a crime spree in Redditch has been jailed.

Homeless Lee Fisher, aged 33, took goods from retailers including Tesco, Spar, and Marks and Spencer during late December and early January.

Worcestershire magistrates jailed him for 13 weeks after he admitted 13 offences, they told him his crimes were considered more serious due to his previous criminal record.

Henry Gardener, aged 37, from Exhall Close, Redditch, was ordered to have treatment for drug dependency, pay £728 compensation and a victim surcharge of £90 after he admitted stealing two TVs from Sainsbury's and household items from Morrisons.

Cheryl Hemmings, aged 34, Holyoakes Close, Winyates, was ordered to pay £117.94 compensation after she admitted stealing beauty products from B&M Bargains.

She was ordered to undertake further treatment for drug dependency after the court was told she was making good progress in rehabilitation.

Ryan Brough, aged 34, of Bushley Close, Redditch, was a total of £259 and ordered to pay costs of £135 and a victim surcharge of £32 after he admitted being drunk and disorderly and resisting a police officer.

Ryan Atkinson, aged 22, of Yarr Mill Close, Redditch, was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £200 and ordered to pay £135 costs and a £32 victim surcharge after he admitted driving with excess alcohol in his breath.

Ryan Freeman, aged 37, of Croome Close, Redditch, was fined £250 and ordered to pay £185 costs and a £32 victim surcharge after he admitted production of cannabis.

Paul O'Reilly, aged 54, from The Avenue, Rednal, was banned from driving for three years, given a community order to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work, instructed to pay £185 costs and a £90 victim surcharge.

O'Reilly admitted driving with excess alcohol in his breath, driving while banned and without appropriate insurance and possession of two small blocks of cannabis resin.

Emma Hopwood, aged 48, of Barrington Road, Rednal, was banned from driving for 17 months, fined £228 and ordered to pay £135 costs and a £32 victim surcharge after she admitted driving with excess alcohol in her breath.
