GENEROUS slimmers from Kidderminster and Bewdley gave away their too-big clothes to help raise more than £5,000 for KEMP Hospice.

Local Slimming World members celebrated the weight loss group's 50th year in 2019 by raising £5,360 for the Wyre Forest charity, which was also marking its golden anniversary.

Consultants set their members a target of raising £5,000, and are delighted to have exceeded their goal by holding Christmas raffles, donating clothes that members had slimmed out of, a sponsored walk, and weekly loose change collections.

Weight loss consultant Sue Dutton, who runs the Gainsborough Hotel Slimming World group, said: "We are so proud of all of our members who rose to this fund raising challenge.

"They displayed such generosity, which is typical of the generosity, compassion, friendship and support found in groups each and every week.

"Members across the area have seen stunning weight losses simply by making small changes to the way they shop, cook and eat, and by taking steps to become more active, and the fact that they could combine this with raising money for a local cause which has touched many of our members is something that we are so proud of.

"It is a pleasure to have worked together with KEMP and we look forward to continuing this friendship into 2020."
