FESTIVE fundraisers earned a whopping £6,000 for charity by wading through the Bromsgrove winter mud in the Bumble Bimble Santa Dash.

A field of 350 runners took part in the event in the Bromsgrove countryside to raise funds that will be split between two charities - Parkinson’s UK and Parkinson’s UK Redditch and Bromsgrove branch.

The Bumble Bimble is a bi-annual run, with events taking place in both summer and winter, and has raised over £20,000 for charity since its launch.

The winter run, held in December, was a sell-out with competitors completing a five-mile or 10-mile course or a two-mile Santa Dash in festive attire.

Event organiser Alex Dentith said: “This is one of our favourite events of the year.

"All of our runners – young and old – were in high spirits and there was such a great atmosphere.

"The course was very muddy this year but that just added to the fun!”

The event finished at The Park Gate Inn, where competitors enjoyed hot drinks and plenty of festive cheer, and hot food provided by The Hangry Moose.

“We couldn’t do it without the support of our sponsors and all of our wonderful volunteers who give up their time – we are immensely grateful to them all,” added Alex.
