A BOY has been hit by a car near Oldbury Academy this afternoon (Monday).
The accident happened at 3.07pm near the secondary school on Pound Road and left the boy with potentially serious injuries.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said the boy was treated at the scene and taken to Sandwell Hospital.
A spokesman said: "We were called at 3.07pm to reports of an RTC involving a pedestrian and car on Pound Road in Oldbury.
"We sent one ambulance and the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) team who've treated one patient, a boy, at the scene, before taking him to Sandwell Hospital for further treatment.
"The patient suffered potentially serious injuries."
The HART team went to the scene, but was stood down and did not deal with the casualty.
