AS your votes continue to come in for your choice for Pub of the Year this week The Fairfield Pub is in the spotlight.

Voted for by the public the aim is to find the most popular watering hole, while also celebrating the many fantastic pubs in our area.

Last year hundreds of pub-goers supported their favourite establishments and we were inundated with votes, and we have seen so many coming in again.

The Fairfield Pub in Battleton Road is popular among its regulars, but staff said it is still a bit of a hidden gem.

The pub holds various children's entertainment events, and has become popular for screening live sport across two screens.

Staff said it is at the heart of the community and family friendly including having bouncy castles for children during summer events, and Father Christmas visit during the festive season.

The pub also has sports teams, and runs music nights including when the pub's deputy manager, Mike Watkins, plays. There is also karaoke and disco nights.

Staff at the pub added they would be thrilled if readers chose them as the winner,

The winning landlord of the Journal’s competition receives a Pub of the Year 2019 trophy and will be invited to the Houses of Parliament by the town’s MP.

To vote simply cut out the slips from the newspaper and send them to us. We’re also now allowing our readers to vote for their favourite pub by email too.

All readers need to do is email deb.walton@localiq.co.uk with the subject ‘EVESHAM JOURNAL PUB OF THE YEAR: NAME OF THE PUB’ and then, in the body of the email, explain why they’ve chosen this pub.

The deadline for email votes is the same as for the voting slips in the paper: Friday, December 20.

The winner will be announced in the Journal and on our website on Christmas Eve.
