A CHURCH in Malvern is putting on a concert and two carol services as part of its preparation for Christmas.

Holy Trinity Church in Link Top is running the services as a prelude to Christmas, with the weekend getting underway on December 14 with a concert staged by Malvern Male Voice Choir at 2.30pm.

After this, the first carol service gets underway on December 15.

From 6.30pm onwards the concert tells the story of the Nativity as told in Luke's gospel.

The music featured will vary in age and familiarity to allow guests of all ages to enjoy.

There will also be congregational carols and mulled wine and mince pies as a winter warmer for before the service being served from 5.45pm.

The second carol service runs from 10.30am on Sunday, December 22, where there will be the traditional service of nine lessons.

Again with a variety of music, the traditional readings will be interspersed with congregational singing.

The organ will be played by resident assistant organist Billy Colbourne with refreshments served after the service.

Both carol services will be led by Holy Trinity Choir, conducted by organist and choirmaster Charles Pavey.

Mr Pavey said: "Music is such a vital part of celebrating Christmas at Holy Trinity and, with so much on offer, we look forward to welcoming people to one or more of these occasions.”
