DRIVERS are risking injury by ignoring a road closure put in place after a sinkhole appeared on a north Herefordshire on Tuesday afternoon.

A Herefordshire Council spokesperson said the C1039 from Bicton House to Kingsland has been closed as a result of the damage and road maintenance workers assessed the extent of the sinkhole.

The spokesperson today added there are more reports of motorists moving road closure signs and driving along the road.

"There is a problem below the road surface, not visible, and you risk injury and vehicle damage if you ignore closure signs," they said.
