RESIDENTS will be able to view plans for the new homeless shelter in Malvern at an open day next week.

The Maggs Day Centre Malvern is set to open in the New Year as Maggs and Malvern Cares hit their £25,000 target for starting the project.

The plans will be unveiled at a pre-Christmas open morning on Friday, December 6 from 10am until 12pm in the Salvation Army Hall in Newtown Road.

The open morning will be an opportunity to hear from Maggs how their day centre model uses volunteers alongside trained staff to support local people in such circumstances. In the first three months of 2019 the Malvern Hills District Council Housing team assessed 72 households who were homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
