Littletons WI November is always our Annual Meeting, the main purpose being to report on the year leading up to this meeting and the election/re-election of a new Committee. Following the singing of Jerusalem President Margaret Potter thanked everyone for their generous donations to the Local Food Bank. These items will be delivered to the local Food Bank in the next few days. Our donation to the local dementia unit had been gratefully acknowledged. The ladies who had entered the Annual Council Meeting competition at Malvern had assembled their entries for us to look at and these were all brilliant. They consisted of a duo of preserves, an upcycled waistcoat, a painting of a landscape and finally a miniature allotment. Luckily we have some very clever and ingenious ladies in the Littletons WI. Business matters having been concluded Margaret introduced our Advisor for the evening who was to preside over the election of our Committee for 2019/2020, Pat Jewkes. Pat complimented the entrants on their entries for the ACM and commented on the high standard of the work presented. June then read the Annual Report for the last year detailing the various events Littletons WI had organised or attended, our fund raising to cover the celebrations for our 70th Anniversary year next year and thanked all the members who had made 2019 a successful year. She also thanked Margaret for all her hard work during her first year as President. Margaret in turn thanked everyone for their help and commented on the various events we had participated in especially our August meeting when we spent an enjoyable afternoon at Stanway Mill before going on to Toddington WI where they served us a delightful afternoon tea. The Committee then stood down en bloc and Margaret handed the meeting over to Pat Jewkes to hold the election. Those standing for the Committee were the same members as last year and therefore all that was necessary was to vote for the President and Margaret Potter was voted in for a second year. She thanked everyone but advised us that she would not be standing for a third term and that we really did want some new members on the Committee. Before we adjourned for tea Janice read out an ode on How to Give Pills to Cats and Dogs – a very entertaining way to end the meeting. Following a lovely supper Pat judged the competition, a Bookmark, and this was won by Dianne. The date of our next meeting is Tuesday 10th December and this will be our Christmas Party with the competition being a Christmas tree decoration.
