THREE people have been rescued from their car after it was caught in flood water.

Police officers and dogs, firefighters and an ambulance crew all mucked in during the rescue in Green Lane, Droitwich, this morning.

South Worcestershire Police tweeted a photo from the scene and warned motorists not to risk driving through flood waters.

Elsewhere in Worcester a brook in Martley Road has partially flooded just below Tesco Express, with many vehicles braving the water to cross.

While the heavy rain has also caused flooding to the left lane of Bridge Street and Hylton Road has considerable surface water between Sabrina Bridge and McDonald's.

One witness this morning described A44 Bromyard as "now a river", adding: "Lots of water if you're driving that way".

A weather warning was put in place by the Met Office yesterday afternoon until 3pm today, with some flooding expected.
