A counsellor based just outside Ludlow, has won full accreditation from the awarding body the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

It is a major step in the career of Kay Fletcher, who set up her private practice in 2011 in the village of Leintwardine.

As well as her growing private practice, Kay works in several local schools as a school counsellor and has appeared on radio several times.

Not one to sit back on her laurels, she is also in the process of setting up a bereavement support charity and has just completed her first book, Little Steps.

“I am both pleased and proud to be able to announce that I have successfully gained BACP accreditation,” she

said.

“This means that my counselling practice has been deemed to meet the BACP’s higher standard as a competent, ethical and independent practitioner.

“Gaining accreditation demonstrates that I have undergone a substantial level of training and achieved high standards of knowledge, development, and experience.

“I am thankful for the support of those around me and those who made it possible for me to spend so many long hours on the assessment process.

“It feels as if I have arrived at a viewing point on my journey, I can consolidate and appreciate my learning. I can take some time to enjoy the view!”
