A LEADING T-Rex tribute band will rock the Brierley Hall Civic Hall this weekend.

T.Rextasy will perform the hits of Marc Bolan and co on Saturday, October 19 including Love to Boogie, Telegram Sam, Jeepster and 20th Century Boy.

The band, who have played together for over 25 years, have won the approval of Marc Bolan’s family, estate and the original ex-members of the legendary 1970s glam rockers.

Danielz, lead vocalist and lead guitarist of the band, said “I absolutely love playing the songs of T.Rex. It’s the actual buzz one gets of going on stage and giving the audience a live experience. Fans are coming to have a good time, and when I see people smiling and doing just that it makes it really worthwhile.”

Danielz will be joined by fellow bandmates Neil Cross on rhythm guitars, Rob Butterfield on bass and drummer John Skelton.

He added: "No-one can ever take Marc's place, no-one could ever be that naive. Treat T.Rextasy as a band of today, playing Marc's music as faithfully as possible and recreating that special energy and performance."

Tickets are on sale now for the show which starts at 8.30pm.
