A SWAN was attacked by a dog and it is "touch and go" whether it will survive, Wychbold Swan Rescue (WSR) volunteers say.
The swan was attacked around noon near County Hall, in Spetchley Road, by a dog which left a bite mark, volunteer John Stewart said.
Mr Stewart said: "The dog was off a lead, we have had this happen before.

"We are not having a go at dogs, it's the owners who let them off a lead there.
"It is a common sense, if you let them off, do it when you have passed in a field.
"The swan has survived the night, the wound has been flushed out.

"It is just fingers crossed now, sometimes they can't cope with the stress."
