Employees at npower’s office in Worcester held a fundraising festival in celebration of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and their charity partner of 15 years, Macmillan Cancer Support.

The theme of the festival was centred around the 15 year birthday party of the partnership with balloons and banners, and a range of cakes which were cut up and sold with an all-important cup of coffee. The office hosted cake and sweet stalls, a samosa sale and a raffle with impressive prizes up for grabs to help raise lots of money, all in the name of charity.

npower held Coffee Mornings across its main sites in the run up to Macmillan’s 29th World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event, which took place across the country on Friday 27th September. The aim was for each site to raise over £1,000 - and when matched pound for pound by npower, would hopefully hit the £15,000 fundraising target set in celebration of 15 years working side by side with Macmillan.

Volunteer Dan Brown who helped organise the party at the Oak House site, said: “What a wonderful way to round off the week with our Coffee Morning birthday bash, raising over £1,400 towards the fundraising total. Being part of the charity committee, I can vouch for the fact that the team have worked tirelessly to host such a fantastic event, and it means so much to me with how generous people have been with their time and contributions. Macmillan is an amazing charity which is very close to my heart and I take every opportunity to get involved and help raise as much money as I can.

npower’s Community Manager Heather Tyrer, said: “Since 2004, our truly impressive employee fundraisers and volunteers have shown massive support for Macmillan by taking part in a range of activities each year including hikes, cycling challenges, rowing events, and the most anticipated event of the year, our lovely Coffee Mornings across all ours sites.

“As we celebrate 15 glorious years together, a massive thanks goes out to all our employees, as the value of the 15 year Macmillan partnership has now hit the £15m milestone. Macmillan means a lot to the people in npower, and the fact that we’ve hit this incredible amount for this fantastic charity this year, is testament to that.”
