The 1960s are making a return to the Palace Theatre from October 2-5, when Alcester Musical Theatre Company will be presenting "Made in Dagenham".

The musical is based on the 2010 film, of the same name, and tells the true story of the women of Ford Dagenham who went on strike in 1968 and closed down the Ford production line in their fight for recognition of their skills and for Equal Pay.

The political and comical musical highlights the struggles that women faced in the work place at the time. It is a must see show which takes you on an emotional rollercoaster as it follows the journey of the women and men involved.

This year the company has chosen to support the Motor Neurone Disease Association as their chosen charity during their show week.

This charity was chosen because of its links to society member Neil Grubb, who lost a friend to this terrible disease.

Neil wanted to raise awareness of MND and he and a friend came up with the idea of producing a Full Monty style calendar featuring various professionals working together in the fight for MND. Calendars will go on sale later in October.

The company will be collecting donations for the charity during the week of their show.

Tickets for Made in Dagenham, which runs from Wednesday, October 2 until Saturday, October 5, are available from the Palace Theatre box office.

Ticket prices range from £15 - £17, plus a £1 booking fee.
