BUSINESSES are being warned to be Brexit-ready to avoid any potential disruption as the UK leaves the EU.

To support with getting local companies prepared, the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce has launched its Get Brexit Ready campaign today.

The campaign follows the Chamber’s interactions with more than 4,000 companies locally.

Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce has a range of services available to support international trade activities and business planning pre and post-Brexit, and, ‘deal’ or ‘no deal’.

A Chamber spokesman said: "From a dedicated team of international trade experts to support you with your EU exit related queries to specific training courses designed to guide you on what is needed to prepare for the changes ahead, the Chamber team is on-hand to support you in the countdown to Brexit.

"As well as proactively taking advantage of real time guidance from professionals, businesses from across the counties can sign up to receive a specialised and simplified newsletter to receive up-to-date comments from the British Chambers of Commerce and leading business leaders."

On Friday, October 4, the Chamber is also hosting an EU Exit preparation event that is open to Members and Non-members in the two counties.

The event will welcome industry experts to share best practice in regards to the current preparation for EU exit, and outline potential challenges and opportunities in relation to specific business functions across organisational structures and sectors.

This event will only take place if the UK is still set to leave the EU on Thursday 31 October 2019.

The event may also change or be postponed dependent on the course of negotiations and in consideration of either a “deal”, “no deal” or “flextension” scenario.
